What were Henry's major arguments that he used in his famous speech, "Give me liberty or give me death"?

On March 23, 1775, Patrick Henry gave his famous speech, "Give me liberty or give me death", at the St. Johns Church in Richmond Virginia. Henry, a delegate of the Continental Congress, requested that the Virginia House of Burgesses would pass a resolution in order to create a Virginia militia. He wanted the mililita to last until the British government recognized the American independence.
